This action-packed clip from the BBC Natural History Unit’s Big Cat Diary – Series 5, shows the camera crew about to have lunch and inconveniently for them, a baby gazelle appears, signalling it’s the cheetah’s time for a bite to eat too. The mother cheetah tries to show her young how to corner a gazelle, but her cubs are distracted from this by catching a small rabbit, which won’t fill them up at all, and let the more substantial baby gazelle run off. This fascinating clip shows that the growing cubs have a lot to learn about successful hunting from their mum.
