Steve Leonard is a qualified vet who was approached by the BBC Natural History Unit while in the final year of his degree, and agreed to appear in the resulting series, Vet School, which was a huge success. It was swiftly followed up by Vets in Practice and Vets in the Wild, before finally quitting his full-time veterinary job in 1999 to locum. He has since presented Steve Leonard’s - Ultimate Killers in 2001, and Extreme Animals, travelling all over the world looking for the most dangerous animals on the planet - you can see a clip from both series on the BBC Earth website. His presenting role with the NHU also includes, Incredible Journeys with Steve Leonard, Orang-utan Diaries and Incredible Animal Journeys.
